Subject: Sound Cards with duplex

>> I've a simple question:
>> Does anyone out there have a sound card which is able to both sample
>> and play digitized signals (music) with a 16 bit resolution _and_ a
>> perfect library which makes this easy? I have tried and search that with
my SB16
>> with no success and also with the Gravies Ultrasound which is said to
>> do the duplex, but haven't found a duplex - lib for that either. The
>> best thing would be, if someone could say: 'Oh yeah, I do this every
>> day with my XYZ-Soundcard. I've also the library which I could mail
>> you!'
>>
>> Any ideas ?

>There's a company called Turle Beach, who do something like 6 cards..
>I can't remember much about them now, but a few models to look out for are
>Tahiti and Maui. They start around 200 uk pounds, but there are lots
>of other cards, even some at 900 ukp, like the Card D (or maybe it's
>D Card =)..

>Sorry this is so vague, my memory's not too good =)

I have a Turtle Beatch Tropez, and use full duplex mode to record and
playback at the same time. Allmost all Turtle Beatch (Maui, Tropez etc)
and DigiDesign (Card-D, Automedia III etc) cards can do this type of
recording (with a fast hard disk). Point you web browser to, Turtle Beatch
pages at, http://www.tbeach.com/

or look at the Turtle Beatch user group pages at,
http://www.umich.edu/~vecna/index.html
http://www.cs.colorado.edu:80/~mccreary/tbeach/

Try the Etcetera page for pro-audio sales in Europe try

I hope this helps, if you need more info let me know!
