I got the v2 distribution last week, and set it up on a 32MB Pentium w/  
Windoze95. That didn't take long, and I prompty tried some simple test 
programs. No troubles there, I'm happy to say. So I started delving into 
the documentation, and found the inforeader quite usable after a little 
practice. The info-file in the bnu272b.zip package was incorrectly named 
though: the dir file referred to it as 'binutil' while its actual name 
was 'binutil.inf'. So I renamed it appropriately. Just reporting here...

Apparently I get about 21M free DPMI with Windoze running and 31M when 
in MS-DOS mode, according to go32-v2. I have yet to learn about the 
workings of win95, so I would appreciate any info on using DJGPP under 
it. Porting between DJGPP and Linux would also be of interest, since I 
will soon have access to a Linux box. But, most importantly, I have to 
learn the basics, so it's back to the docs for me. 

One thing puzzles me though. What is it that the files in 
timezone-directory are used for? Being something of a newbie I just 
completely fail to understand what would DJGPP want to do with 
information about timezones.
